THE SALTY TRUTHS
ME? A COACH?
Hey, hi, hello there! I’m Sav - CrossFit and nutrition coach, first-time mama, and the heart behind Salt & Light Wellness.
I spent over a decade of my life playing soccer but avoided weights and the gym like the plague. I didn’t want to get “bulky,” and honestly, I didn’t want to work that hard. Then the freshman 15 hit me and COVID hit the world, so I decided it was time for a change. I joined a conventional gym in 2021 but saw little progress becauseI didn’t know what I was doing, and I wasn’t eating in a way that supported my efforts. I felt lost and was very quickly burning out.
That’s when I found CrossFit.
I walked into my first class in November 2021 with my boyfriend (now husband), dropped a barbell on myself (yep, really), cried in front of everyone, and somehow still knew I was hooked. The challenge, the community, and the way I was pushed - both physically and mentally - really lit a fire in me I hadn’t felt since my soccer days. I found a community I loved, a fitness routine that worked for me, and a whole new door of opportunities that opened before me.
After the CrossFit open in 2023, I decided to go all in. I had recently joined a competitive gym in Kennesaw, trained hard every day for six months, competed locally, and truly felt like I was in the best shape of my life.
Then, in late 2023, I found out I was pregnant.
Don’t get me wrong - my husband and I had been married for a year, and this was a very wanted and planned baby, but going from intense training and feeling confident in my body to scaling everything and struggling with body image wasn’t easy. At all. I trained throughout my pregnancy and loved the movement, but I constantly questioned if it was safe. My doctor gave the green light, and friends offered advice, but I was still worried I might mess something up.
After 39 long weeks, I had an unmedicated five-hour birth. But what came next hit me harder than I expected - postpartum anxiety and rage that stuck around for months, and a body I barely recognized. I had a bad case of diastasis recti and started pelvic floor therapy, which opened my eyes to just how little education and support women get for pregnancy and postpartum training and recovery.
That’s a huge part of why I started Salt & Light Wellness - because women deserve better.
I’m passionate about helping women feel strong, capable, and informed in every season. Whether you're lifting for the first time, navigating pregnancy, healing postpartum, or learning to fuel your body well, I’m here to walk with you. I offer personal training, programming, and nutrition coaching with a whole-foods-first approach - but always with balance in mind. I believe food should fuel you, fit your lifestyle, and support your goals for the long haul.
My mission is simple: be the coach I wish I had when I started this journey. Movement should be joyful. Food should be nourishing and enjoyable. And women should feel confident and powerful in their bodies.
If you're looking for someone to help you feel strong, eat well, train smart, or make sense of pregnancy and postpartum fitness - I’m your girl. I might be a little crunchy, but I’m always in your corner, because let’s be real - our healthcare system isn’t.
